Out of an abundance of caution, McMinn County High School was briefly placed in a hold status today following a concerning comment reportedly made by a student. This action allowed school administrators and law enforcement to conduct a thorough review to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
The comment was immediately reported to school administration and investigated in collaboration with the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the McMinn Schools Safety Office. All appropriate school safety protocols were followed during this process.
After a careful investigation, it was determined that there was no credible threat, and the hold was lifted. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the information gathered.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and support as we work closely with our law enforcement partners to maintain a safe school environment.
