McMinn County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan 14. Transportation personnel have been checking road conditions, and found that a number of secondary roads still remain covered in ice and snow.
McMinn County Schools will be closed on Monday, January 13, due to remaining ice and snow on a number of roadways. Messages regarding extracurricular activities will be sent as needed.
MPP students at Niota enjoyed their STEM project All Things Snow! Students created snowflakes using toothpicks and marshmallows. They also made snow by mixing just two ingredients! Can you guess what they were? Our MPP kids were surprised. All the kids had a blast with this fun activity!

McMinn PREP students at Rogers Creek School performed a Reader's Theater rendition of the classic story of the The Little Gingerbread Man by George Haven Putnam. After the play the students and families created their own Gingerbread Man with salt dough.

McMinn PREP students and families at Niota School grabbed their passports and took a trip around the world to celebrate Christmas! Students have been studying the various ways countries celebrate Christmas. Students displayed what they learned and invited their families to participate in a craft or STEM project that reflected holiday traditions from other countries.
The MPP Program at MVS had a very special guest yesterday. The Grinch came to read Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. The students enjoyed listening to this classic Christmas tale and interacting with the Grinch himself! Pictured are students enrolled in McMinn PREP Afterschool Program.
